I’m three weeks into February before realizing that I haven’t been writing as much. Well, that’s because I’ve been spending a lot more time on new music, which is definitely a good thing. I’m putting together the first official Here Inside release since 2017, which is a new song called “Ordinary Days”. This single has spun into an EP of sorts. It will be released with three remixes of songs from our 2017 album CoalescE, along with two covers. All of this new music was recorded bit by bit since the summer of 2017 and I’m grateful that it is finally coming together into a release.
Here’s a sample of the remixes for “Pressure”, “Bits”, and “Still Point”…
Making music has been a sporadic exercise for me over the past few years. I’ve worked on things in spurts, but haven’t pushed much over the finish line. As a result, it usually feels like I haven’t been very active. But as I’ve pulled the final pieces together for this new release, I started looking ahead at the next all original Here Inside album and realized that I had close to twenty demos on the table for review. That number has been reduced down to six that I’ll be working on this spring for a new all original EP that will be released later in the year, leaving plenty to continue developing even after that.
It’s exciting to realize how many raw materials I have to work with and to start forming those materials into actual releases. It’s going to be a very musical 2020.
